Country Ratings Upgraded by Moody's for Pakistan
Islamabad — Global credit rating agency Moody's has upgraded Pakistan’s sovereign rating to Caa1. The outlook has also been revised from Stable to Positive. The move reflects improvements in Pakistan’s external financial position and reforms undertaken under the IMF program.
Experts say the upgrade will boost investor confidence and ease Pakistan’s access to global financial markets. They add that continued, consistent reforms could pave the way for further rating upgrades.
This key development comes as the country faces external debt pressures, inflation, and fiscal deficits. Even so, the upgrade is being viewed internationally as a positive signal for Pakistan.
